Recovery after a penoplasty comes down to one simple but essential instruction: allow the tissues time to heal before resuming anything. A few precautions over two weeks are enough to protect the result.

Why patience protects the result

A penoplasty does not “settle” instantly. In the days following the injection, the product must integrate into the tissues, the injection points must close, and the initial swelling must resolve. Any demand placed on the area too early risks displacing the product before it has settled, or prolonging inflammation. Recovery is therefore not an arbitrary constraint: it is the time needed for the result just obtained to stabilise properly.

Abstaining from intercourse

A very important point: after a hyaluronic acid penoplasty, sexual intercourse must be stopped for a minimum of 8 days. Extending this to 15 days where possible is advised. The initial swelling, some bruising and the fact that the injection points have not yet closed make normal sexual activity difficult, if not impossible. This interval applies to masturbation as well: what matters is resting the penis, whatever the demand placed on it.

Activities to avoid

For the 15 days following the procedure, cycling, horse riding and water sports should also be avoided: they cause compression and moisture retention, delaying closure of the injection points. Prolonged sitting on a saddle, damp swimwear and repeated friction all work against healing. It is therefore better to suspend these activities for two weeks than to compromise the evenness of the result.

A short-lived inconvenience

Apart from these precautions, recovery remains straightforward: there is no incision, no sutures, and no time off work required. Daily life resumes immediately. Only the activities described above call for a pause. After a month, once the swelling and any bruising have resolved, the penis has settled and normal life can resume without any restriction. These first two weeks of care are, ultimately, the best investment in a lasting result.
