Penoplasty and intimate life: when to resume sexual activity

Penoplasty and intimate life: when to resume sexual activity

Resuming an intimate life after a penoplasty is not something to improvise. The interval to observe is no excessive precaution: it directly determines the quality and evenness of the result.

Why wait

After a hyaluronic acid penoplasty, sexual intercourse must be stopped for a minimum of 8 days, ideally 15 days. In the first few days, swelling, some bruising and the fact that the injection points have not yet closed make normal sexual activity difficult, if not impossible. Resuming too early risks displacing the product before it has integrated, and compromising the evenness of the result. This interval applies to masturbation too: what matters is resting the penis, in whatever form.

Observing the interval means protecting the result just obtained.

The role of talking it through as a couple

This two-week interval is far easier to live with when it is understood and shared. Explaining the reason for the pause to your partner — letting the product integrate, protecting a lasting result — avoids misunderstandings and turns a constraint into a shared undertaking. Penoplasty is often part of a wider search for confidence and comfort; discussing it openly with a partner makes it a settled step rather than a taboo subject.

A gradual return

Once this interval has passed, activity resumes with no particular precaution: the penis has settled and the injection points have closed. Bear in mind that the final result is assessed at one month, once the swelling has resolved — that is when the penis, thicker both flaccid and erect, takes on its settled appearance. The first encounters after the pause can serve as a gentle return, without forcing, allowing time to recover full sensation.

For the following 15 days, cycling, horse riding and water sports should also be avoided, as they cause compression and moisture retention. Patience over these first two weeks is the best investment in a lasting result — and in an intimate life fully regained, often with new-found assurance.
